From Hummingbird Falls, Alberta comes this summery tale:

Romance & Wildies

Romance & Wildies
Dance hand in hand
Here’s hoping to tame
A ride for the land.
Dreaming of legends
Future stories to sing
Born in the wild
Keen & willing.

To learn & become
A friend loyal & true
Will carry us home
Bring smiles when blue.
Fly through the trees
Many see him by chance
We stop to enjoy
his playful dance.
Treasured memories we can keep
His only friends the deer & sheep.
This leggy young horse
With a bright handsome eye
Longs for a home with friends nearby.
Finally he visits Bar JH corrals
He’s joined us for meals & play with new pals.
We knew it was only a matter of time
Surely catching this pony’s
not such a crime.
A couple of gals cooked a cleverly plot
“So easy”- they grin- “the Wildy is caught!”
Led Scout with the Wildy into the round pen
Who would have believed it- surely not them.
Bob & Elaine our witness- it’s true
Helped guide the horse, a part of our crew.
Just a couple of kids
Past forty, near twenty.
Nadine & Karen are smiling plenty!!
They hardly can wait to tell Ma & Pa
They caught the Wildy!!
Come see!! Hah Hah!!
Earning the right to name the wild horse
It has to be perfect, fitting of course
He’s as close a ringer to my Tucker I’ve seen.
So I guess he’ll be our “Tucker- Deen”.

Willing & free.
